hi there vj!

any feedback on PAL, from MNL - LAX? I've flown thru PAL in Asian countries only and I must say I'm quite satisfied with their services compared to other airlines. How's it like if it's from MNL- LAX and having a straight flight of 13 or more hours?

Thank you!

I've flown PAL several times from MNL-LAX. I like PAL a lot. It's the fastest airline to get to LAX. I like their food a lot. They have more food that other airlines that I've used. They also let you carry two 50-lb luggages inclusive of the ticket price. The crew are very friendly. My husband and I travelled with our almost 2-year old a few months ago. Having mostly Filipino passengers in there helped the flight a lot. The passengers were very chatty to my 2-year old so that kept her occupied. Also, I've noticed that Filipinos are just more fond of children. They also like to talk to to "kano" so overall the straight flight makes it a lot faster than having grumpy passengers around you.

The service around Asian countries is probably the similar for MNL-Lax.

LAX is a very busy terminal though. It takes at least half an hour to go through customs. :(

PAL its ok but they cost more then other Airlines. My wifes parents just received the visa yesterday and they will be flying to Las Vegas on Nov 5th. I paid 640 a ticket with all tax on Hawaiian Airlines with one stop in Hawaii then to Las Vegas. When we purchased these tickets a week ago PAL was over 200 dollars more per ticket for the same days.

Right now I am having a horrible experience with PAL. The customer service is terrible. No one answers the phone in Los Angeles or Las Vegas. The website would not allow booking on-line so I had to book over the phone, AT A HIGHER PRICE. It gets better. Instead of just taking my credit card info over the phone, they have to send me a credit card authorization paper from the LA office. I have been waiting all day and still no one will answer the phone in LA or return any messages I have left. I am simply tryin to avoid having my Fiancee change planes. I thought it would be nice for us to meet in Las Vegas and fly togaether home to Orlando. I guess not. This will be my last experience with PAL. Good luck to anyone else who decides to use this company.

PAL was alright but they don't do their rounds are often as Korean Air and you'll be dehydrated the entire flight unless you asked for it. For my last flight, we didn't have AC for at least 2 hours and reason our flight was delayed. Only good thing about them is their non-stop flight from MNL-LAX.

Good luck!

My rides with PAL have been so bad I won't fly with them any more. You Pay WAY more for alot less. They are ranked at the bottom 2 worst airlines, with China Air only being slightly ahead. You know that PAL was slapped with a case a while back where all flights to US were cancelled until they complied with the FAA to FIX their planes right?

I flew with my father from SFO to MNL and we checked in early to get emergency seating. When we sat down our trays weren't even functoning correctly, we had to prop several pillows and jimmy rig our seats just to try and attempt to eat our meals and balance our drinks....On top of that my father's seat wouldnt recline properly and my audio plug didn't even function, basically this became such an issue we complained and they promised they'd check on it and see what they could do which meant let me put it in our log books and go back to talking with the other crew. Waiting for a flight attendent was like waiting in jeep during traffic hour in Manila, it took FOREVER I clocked them at 15 Minutes before they came to assist....

30 Days later we get back on exactly the same plane for the same trip back home and guess what? SAME EXACT PROBLEM, they did nothing to fix the problems trays still didn't function, chair wouldnt recline properly and I flew back to SFO with no sounds and silent films to keep me company... and it was the same lackluster service on the return trip.

If I were you, save yourself a few hundred $$ and fly with an airline with much better service at a lower price. Cathay Pacific, EVA Airlines, ANA, JAL, United Airlines, just to name a few possible options that tend to be cheaper than PAL if you book ahead of schedule.

I wasn't a fan of LAX when going through (mainly because of the transportation issues between terminals at the time). Have you tried San Francicso? They have a monorail system that's easier to board with all your luggage.

San Francisco is too far if her new place is in LA. It'd be nice to have a train from LAX to SFO though.

We've always used PAL, though a bit expensive,

service is ok, but what matters to me are the airmiles we accumulated,...
