NOA for EAD oct 28th and nothing happening

i am really starting to get frustrated. i sent out my paper work in october, the notice is dated with 28th of oct. i have already recieved an AP but since being tiouched once in dec 28th nothing is happening with the EAD. i want to travel back home in late march but i am worried my biometrics appt will be schedualed for when i am gone.

is this 'normal' that its taking *so* long?

It’s not “normal” but definitely happens to a lot of people.

As Kezzie said, the holdup is most likely due to biometrics not having been taken. The fast way to resolve this is to make an INFOPASS appointment. In most cases, they give you same day biometrics appointment, to which you should bring all NOAs, so that they can do both – for EAD and AOS.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

If you haven't received something for you EAD biometrics I would make an infopass appointment to your local office. We sent in our paperwork 8/13 and received the NOAs right away. We then received the biometric for the AOS interview but nothing for EAD. I called them and they said if it is 90 days pass filing date, you can get approval through a visit to your local office. We went there and they said his card had been approved in the system 11/29 so they did his biometric for the EAD while we were there on 1/13 and he received his card 1/23. So it is worth checking to be sure it is not stuck in the system. He never received a biometric appointment letter. Good Luck!

6/13/05 Applied for SSN

6/23/05 6 p.m. We were MARRIED; honeymoon in Gatlinburg

8/13/05 AOS and EAD paperwork mailed

8/25/05 NOAs in the mail!!! Yea!

11/25/05 - BIOMETRIC DATE

01/26/06 - AOS SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW AND HE GETS HIS FIRST JOB AT FIRST JOB INTERVIEW

02/13/06 - GREEN CARD ARRIVED

4/22/06 - Driver's License!!

11/05/2007 Filed to Lift conditions[/color]

11/07/07 - NOA1 received

12/21/07 - Biometrics completed

04/08/08 - 10 YEAR CARD APPROVED

04/14/08 - CARD IN HAND !!!!!

11/3/08 - Filed for Citizenship

11/29/08 - Biometric Appointment

02/03/09 - Citizenship Interview, HE PASSED
