Last Friday I got an email from NVC. I opened it, and they were requesting the AOS packet and...AAAARRRGGHHH!...the police certificate! Called them up, and the lady who answered said that they need one from SINDH, which is a province in Pakistan. Now, my wife is from Karachi, which just happens to be IN Sindh, and the cops in Karachi are known as....SINDH POLICE. This fact is mentioned two times on the police certificate, and the second time it's mentioned it's in BIG PRINT...so anyone who even has a little bit of eyesight can see it! I mentioned this to the lady, and she talked to a supervisor. Came back to me and told me to send an explanatory not, along with a copy of the police cert with Sindh police highlighted. Sent the documents off on Saturday, so should have reached now.

Just to test them, I called today AGAIN. Same story, and the guy I talked to consulted a supervisor, who said that they would take another look, which would take them 10 to 15 days, just to look at two lines of text! This is actually the only thing holding up my case. Thankfully today the guy told me that everything is fine with the AOS docs.

I just hope that they accept the police certificate! It really was a big hassle getting it, and I had to enlist the help of my relatives in Pakistan.

Sorry, I just had to rant.

Trust me, I understand your frustration. We had a run-in with the NVC telling us our AOS was sent in blank... When it wasn't. It took an extra 2 weeks to clear up, and a lot of phone calls.

BEST OF LUCK.

I am going through the same BS now. They claim to have not received the marriage certificate which basically set us back to the point of not being able to make our holiday trip for my wife to meet my parents. I checked the email I originally sent, and it is all there just as the other documents are.
