Hi everyone!

My fiance David sent in our I129F pack 4 weeks ago, and maybe 2 weeks ago he got the receipt letter in the mail. The receipt EMAIL he got said "we mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case"....

So I have two questions to the more experienced petitioners out there:

1. Is the receipt the only thing we get? It's the I797C, and I'm counting that as NOA1...right? But will there be something else "describing how we will process your case" as what we got was just the receipt?

2. Is there going to be nothing between this and our NOA2 some 5/6 months down the line? We neither have any criminal records, children or previous marriages, and sent in a hefty amount of evidence, so I'm not expecting to be asked for more Information. So we are just waiting for the NOA2 in maybe March?

David and I only see each other for 2 weeks every 3 months, and I just want something else to break up the time while I'm waiting! :( this is going to be a long hard wait!

I hope good things are happening for everyone, so glad to have found this website as a newbie to the process!

Yes, the I-797C receipt is all you'll get for now.

2. Is there going to be nothing between this and our NOA2 some 5/6 months down the line? Correct. Assuming you petition doesn't receive any RFEs (touch wood), the next thing you'll receive is the NOA2/I-797 acceptance.

In the meantime, both of you can start looking to the post-petition approval steps. You can't really do anything yet, but at least being aware of what's next will keep you from being overwhelmed when the time comes. In a lot of ways, the UK is a different animal from some of the other countries represented on VJ, so definitely be sure to read through the interview reviews and visit the UK regional forum to meet some of the regulars.

Good luck!
