Hey All,

I sent in a I130, I485 and I765 at once to USCIS on 9/24/2012, they cahsed the checks and on 10/15/2012 we received the Biometrics Appointment for 10/22/2012. We did not receive our NOA..

Does that sound right?

I applied for AOS from K1 visa (family based visa) but I'm having a very similar situation as you so it might help.

I mailed my package on 10/04, they cashed out check on 10/09 and yesterday, (10/20) I received a biometrics appointment letter for 11/06 but still no NOA1 (neither electronic or hard copy)...

I was able to check on USCIS website using the case numbers included in the appointment letter for I485 and I765 that technically my package was opened at USCIC office on 10/09 and supposedly a NOA1 was mailed then... Based on visajourney's immigration timelines it looks like there is serious backlog in handling AOS cases, so I think you should be patient and our NOA1 hard copies are on their way. I've heard of cases when NOA1 arrived after the appointment letter. Personally, I'm gonna wait for 30 days (starting the count from when the cases was received) and if nothing arrived in the mail I will get in touch with USCIS

Due to apparent serious backlog at USCIS, I am not concerned too much with the sequence of events with the AOS process. Both my wife and son's Form I-797c, ASC Appointment Notices including the receipt numbers for the EAD and AOS petitions.

In our case, we have received, so far, all of the respective I-797c receipt notices, at the same time as the I-797c ASC Appointment Notices (Biometrics). They did the biometrics "capturing." We are waiting for the AP and EAD approval or RFE notices. Instead, we recently received their I-797c, Initial AOS Interview Appointment notices. According to our VJ timeline, their EAD and AP petitions may be adjudicated this week.

It would be a little confusing if it weren't for the VJ timeline. It has enabled us to keep track of the what and where of this portion of the process.

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
