Hi everyone,

I am interested in moving to the US and currently applying for jobs there (H1B jobs exempt from cap limit). It is likely that I will be getting an H1B and start working in July-October.

I want to apply for the DV lottery just in case.

My questions is: what happens if I happen to have an H1B and then win the lottery in May?

Can I move to the US under H1B and then file for an AOS? (even though my country of residence then would be different from the one in my lottery entry application?)

Any help and recommendations with this will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, if you are legally in the USA once it's time to process your DV lottery case, you can AOS.
