One last Vaccination Question

OK, I have most of our AOS packet ready to go, but this I still can't quite wrap my head around. I have my wife's DS-3025 form. On it, the box is checked that says 'Applicant may be eligible for blanket waivers because vaccinations not medically appropriate (as indicated above)

The vaccines they DID do: TDAP, MMR and Varicella.

MMR is listed as completed series, and TDAP and Varicella listed as insufficient time interval. Actually she DID get her second Varicella from a doctor in Manila at the right time.

The rest are listed as Age Inappropriate.

So here is where I'm confused. Some people have said I'm all set, and can just send in that form, and don't need the I-693 form and to have it filled out, transcribed by a civil surgeon.

But I'm just unclear.

Advice?

If she had those 3 shots at her medical exam (or close or it, not as a baby) then she is up to date on shots. The insufficient time interval ones mean there are additional shots in the series but there is a waiting period before taking another. One of the reasons shots can be given a blanket waiver is "insufficient time interval" . It was not medically safe to do those on the date of her exam. She didn't need a flu shot because it was flu season. The USCIS and DOS accept that form if was filled out correctly and she was as up to date as medically possible on that date. She doesn't have to get the other booster shots. They will be given the blanket waiver. If she goes to a civil surgeon now, she will need the shots because the time interval has passed. She will also need a flu shot because it is flu season (Oct 1 start). They will go by the DS-3025 date if you use that. They will go by the new date if you do an I-693.

The appropriate "waiver" box that should be ticked for influenza is the last column "not flu season". It is age appropriate since Nov 2010, but maybe the doctor or nurse that filled it out hasn't kept up with bulletins. That is a tiny mistake but I would certainly try the DS-3025 and it will surely be okay since it wasn't actually flu season.
