The case of cold feet came from visiting this site ocasionally and reading stories of petitions that ended badly,, but thanks for everyones genuine answers to my question.

It's important to really know and understand your not only your future spouse but the other people in your life. Do you share common interests? Is there a significant age gap that could cause generational clashing? Will your peers and family react negatively or be derogatory when they meet your new wife? How will you react to your spouse socializing with new friends here in the US that you may not know? How will you react when you and your spouse encounter hostility and prejudice in this ever divisive country? (Don't kid yourself, this will happen, even if it is just a muttered comment or a glare, you will encounter xenophobia and racism everywhere in the US to some degree.)

I think the best question to ask, especially for males marrying younger foreign women, is why are you marrying her honestly? It is true that some foreign spouses use the lure of sex and companionship to win a ticket to a better life abroad but I find it just as common for men to take advantage of young women who are too innocent to understand abusive relationships.
