Hey Everyone.

We are starting my Visa petition soon and I just have a question regarding the sponsor requirements!

Can I self sponsor for the K1.

Also is there a minimum amount of savings I need to show,

Is there anywhere I can find out this information!

Cheers

Rich

London allows it for K1s. There is no published amount as it is a subjective decision by the officer and he can approve anything he feels is adequate so you won't become a public charge. Most inquire like you are doing, but never come back and report the specific amount they got by on. I only know one who said they were approved with $40,000. Old discussions (pre 2008) referred to much less being accepted, but I didn't read that from the applicant so take it as hearsay.

Here's a London web page discussing the public charge and self-sponsoring under "Applicant's Own Funds". http://london.usembassy.gov/faffidavit.html
