I need this visa thing to come through so bad.. I can't live at home anymore..

In the last two months I've already spent about 3-4 weeks in total where my dad and I don't talk at all...

(moving back home to help my folks & save money before the big move was a bad idea.., not only did I not save any money (took me 4 months to find a decent job in Mississauga), but it's strained my relationship with my dad)

Come on Montreal.. I can't take another fight..

I can totally relate to your situation. I've been arguing on and off with my mom and her boyfriend for 3-4 weeks now as well. I know I won't be able to come back here after my visit to the US in a few days, so I as well am just praying for a September interview.

If you lived a litter closer, we could start up a Canadian VJ house! All those people who are having trouble staying with their relatives could move in (we'd have like 10 rooms or something), and all the people needing to give notice with their landlords...no problem come join us! Rent would be so cheap because there would be so many of us, and we could vent at each other all day about how slow the visa process is and how mad MTL is making us. :jest:

Seriously though, I do sympathize with your situation and hope you get an interview very soon!

Not to put a damper on anyones parade but my fiancee emailed the consulate today and this was their reply.

You were on the waiting list since May. Your appointment might be at the end of this year or later

Their time of May is interesting since they received our packet in April. They did ask for something in a RFE which took them 3 weeks to do. It just goes to show that you don't go on the waiting list until they have EVERYTHING. Unless they are just blowing smoke to cover their ###, it is worse than we thought. So much for our November wedding. :crying:

I've just sent another email and asked when I was "officially" put on the waiting list and what the actual wait time is. Not that it seems to matter because everyone seems to get a different answer. I will be VERY upset if I returned my packet three in early May and have to wait until 2008 for an interview. Also, with the interviews scheduled for August, MTL seemed to be on track for the 6 month wait so I have absolutely no idea what could have happened in the last few weeks that would have pushed it to 9 +!

Just spent the weekend in the U.S. with my man and that just reinforces how much I want the K1 to come through soon. We've all waited long enough and it gets harder and harder to come back without him or not stay with him.

If you sent your packet 4 back in May, chances are you will get a 2008 interview, or a December one. But remember that both Thanksgivings get in the way, and so do X-mas vacations. I know it sux. big time.
