I'm glad your interview went well and you got that stuff sent in. I lived in Ottawa for 4 years and took many trips to montreal. It's not the easiest place to drive to or drive in so I'm glad you guys got out safe and alive!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Dear Fellow Montreal Consulate Visitors!

We're BAAACCCKKKKKKKK :D

Okay, here's our story......

Got up at 4 AM to drive from Ottawa to Montreal and beat the rush hour traffic (hah cussin hah!). NO time is non rush-hour time in Montreal. Okay, got there at 6:35 am, just in time to get crushed in the rush. By the way, coming into Montreal, every exit is on the RIGHT side EXCEPT the $*^#(%*3) one you NEED to take. So, took a nice tour of some local neighborhoods and woke up a few unsuspecting people with my cussing out the window of the Jeep. Got back on the right road. Cussed a few more folks and made it over to the left lane. Made it off THAT exit ramp. Shock absorbers replaced. (The roads?) in Montreal haven't been repaired since 1902, BUT, they are busy closing a lot of lanes making it LOOK like they are repairing them. Got Sharon to quit cowering in her seat by promising NOT to actually kill anyone, and shouted out MY window for a bit. (She says she'll still marry me even after seeing my worst, WOOHOO). Took the proper exits and turns, found the Consulate, and got a parking spot quickly in a paid parking area. Saw a bunch of folks sitting out in front of a building, and figured that was the embassy. Walked that way and found out it was a local university, turned arouond and saw the BIGGEST BLACK dild* of a building I've ever seen in my life. This was OBVIOUSLY the embassy. Woohoo. Walked up, looked in, and was suprised by the NICEST young guard who told us to come on in, take our clothes off and get comfy (not really, but Sharon thought he was cute). They were ALL extremely nice and polite, and helped us right on up to the 19 floor. We were there for about 15 seconds and they started telling people to go to window #9. At 7:30 no less! We had an 8:45 AM appointment, but they just started tellin us to go to this window and that window. Well, we waited a few minutes between windows, and then got called by the NICEST woman and she took all of our papers, sorted them for us, and was generally very cheerful for that time of morning. She mentioned we needed 2 copies of the K-156 which we had, and the letter just mentions ONE. Be aware of that! We then waited for the interview, which we were called to soon enough in room 7. Some young fellow all dressed up asked us a few questions, made us swear an oath (Not THAT kinda oath, which we've grown accustomed to swearing over the past year and a half). He looked everything over, then asked if Sharon had an RCMP report for ALL of her names. WOOPS! She had told the RCMP fella that she thought she better have that, but he told her that her current name would be just fine. NOPE! You HAVE to have a report for every name you've ever had, Maiden, previous married, etc. Our faces sunk. Well, he gave us some paperwork that told what to send in, and Then said just get it to them in the mail, and it would take from one to two weeks to get it processed and her Passport back to her. Not sure what that meant, but in reading the letter, it basically states that That's all they need to issue the Visa :) (Send it ATTN. to the IV ISSUANCE ) SO, while we are not 100% positive, It looks as though we are through and just awaiting the Visa in the mail. We sent the info out overnight next day Noon delivery as soon as we got back from Montreal (and only got lost 3 times leaving there, woohoo!) Note to ANYONE wishing to VISIT Montreal; LOOK for a date when everyone there has their car in the shop and won't be on the roads, cause you WON"T enjoy driving anywhere in that city! Oh, and get new tires and shocks, you will NEED THEM.

Love ya all!

Alan & Sharon

P.S. Goodluck to everyone going on the 8th!

WOW SO COOL sounds like the interview was a piece of cake , Congratulations ( YEAHHHHHHH 1 less on the waiting list , lol ) CONGRATSSSSSSS

Just to clarify, the people getting their interviews scheduled from June completion were IR1/CR1's (so far only one that we know of, which was karina.)

IR1/CR1's are scheduled directly through NVC so they somehow seem to bypass the waiting list at Montreal.

And incase anyone is curious, yes they are just as rude when you call NVC and pester about an interview date hehe. Both my phone calls so far have produced rude answers followed by a monotonous read-off of a printout they have directly in front of them stating they schedule around MTL's waiting list, yada yada yada.

Just give me my damn interview already.

I need this visa thing to come through so bad.. I can't live at home anymore..

In the last two months I've already spent about 3-4 weeks in total where my dad and I don't talk at all...

(moving back home to help my folks & save money before the big move was a bad idea.., not only did I not save any money (took me 4 months to find a decent job in Mississauga), but it's strained my relationship with my dad)

Come on Montreal.. I can't take another fight..
