amarceau, care to change my interview date? It's now Dec 14th. We inquired about a change via email and the consulate gave us the new date. It was with mixed emotions that this happened, but we're thankful God made the decision for us and we don't have to second guess which option was better.

Amarceau, Maybe if you change JG's just include a note that it was changed by choice, since the originally given date gives a more accurate impression of the waiting time. :)

We are doing the straight CR-1. Our case was complete Sept 20th at NVC. Still have not received anything in on it being transferred to Montreal or any interview set. On the automated system it said to give it 8 weeks - it's been 6 weeks already.

Mtl received my DS-230 yesterday morning so im officially in the waiting line :D

Just on a quick note, Nov 22 is the date I received my packet at home from the embassy, Mtl received my petition from NVC somewhere between the 16th and the 20th.

So hubby sent his packet 3 back to Mtl on Nov6 . I emailed them last night to inquire as to whether it was in fact received and the response was as follows:

"Yes, all was received.You will wait for four months till you hear of an appointment day"

I know this is nothing new and i shouldn't be feeling the angst I am, but for the love of Fred......if we wait 4 months to hear and the actual appointment is a couple months after that...........UGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH

Seriously though.... I know that everybody is freaking out with what the embassy says in the replys ( on the phone and e-mails)

Heres a fact:

They receive millions of phone calls ans e-mails everyday and are probably fed up with that and probably give this generic 4 to 6 months answer to make sure people are gonna stop busting their balls.

Second:

We see it here, average to get back the packet 4 is usually 2 months. And as far as Im concern the longest timeframe ive seen for somebody waiting was 4 months between packet 3 sent and Interview, and it was jerseygirl.

FInally:

Even on the letter that they give into the packet 3 its written that delays for the interview date are around 2-4months.

So please, people, get real about this. The less we are going to call them the more time they will have to get their job done Anyone as tried to work when the phone keeps ringing?? Thats a serious pain in the a.... :whistle:

Just do something else and try to get your mind off of it :reading: , its gonna pass by faster and you will be really happy. And you may even get a surprise!

heheh I read it prior to ur editing riblet, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
