Time to call ur congress person. Squeaky wheel gets the oil!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Dan talked to the Consulate on Tuesday. They said our file was complete and was in a group that they were working on making appointments for. She said May/June. *sigh* It's been over a year now since we started this journey. I can't wait for it to end. They have had our packet 3 since November. Appears we are the last one in November to get an appointment. I'll definitely get pissed if people who sent theirs in after us get appointments before we do. This is getting to be totally ridiculous. :angry:

I mean come on, something is wrong....

I sent my checklist on Nov 23......A day before you!!! And in February I got the e-mail saying it would be April 4th, and I am in the states since Sunday. This make no friggin' sense to me that people from November and December are being told May-June-July. I feel really sorry for you and I dont get what is going on right now at the Mtl embassy. in fall time it used to be like 2 months before poeple were getting their appointment letter. What happened?

That was the same thing that they told both Jon and me on the phone and that's weird since you sent yours in November and our system date in January 17th.

I mean come on, something is wrong....

Packet Three Arrives: January 12, 2007

Packet Three Enters Montreal System: January 17, 2006

Email Attempt One: February 13, 2007 -- No Date; estimated 4 months from Receipt Date

Phone Call One: March 16, 2007 -- No Date: estimated 6 months from Receipt Date

Email Attempt Two: March 27, 2007 -- No Date

Phone Call Two: April 13, 2007: No Date: She said that while no date is scheduled, they're moving toward our date of January 17th and that late May seems likely for an interview.

Phone Call Three: April 17, 2007 -- No Date: Our interview should be within the 6-8 week timeframe.

Letter from Congressional Representative: We have a backlog of up to six months for appointments. It is doubtful we will be able to accommodate him before June.

Phone Call Four: Montreal gives Jon an interview date of May 9th -- that's next week. And supposedly Packet 4 is in the mail.

08/16/07 - applied for ssn

09/03/07 - received ssn card

11/07/07 - AP approved and received 11/12/07 :)

11/19/07- EAD approved online and received same day (actual approval 11/07/07) :)

12/27/07 - AOS transferred to CSC

02/26/08 - 485's approved without interview

01/14/09 - Sent I-751 - removal of conditions

02/23/10 - Biometrics

03/17/10 - Removal of conditions approved .. card production ordered

I don't believe this.

Just received this reply from Montreal after emailing them asking if we were going to be able to count on anything in MAY now. We've been waiting since early DECEMBER for an interview date. This is getting RIDICULOUS>>>>>

Hi, I checked & you will be waiting for an interview date for about four more months

This after we were told probably an APRIL date in Early February.

Holy ####### I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT DATE! The letter came in the mail today! I cried .... seriously cried tears our joy.

May 7, 2007 is the date!!!

Our wedding is May 19th .. just in the nick of time!

Just received this reply from Montreal after emailing them asking if we were going to be able to count on anything in MAY now. We've been waiting since early DECEMBER for an interview date. This is getting RIDICULOUS>>>>>

That really doesn't make sense ... just lets say that they received your package 3 checklist and processed it in January .. that means that they are now quoting 7 months from receipt???

They booked CNDGRL 4 1/2 months from receipt date .. which is easier to deal with ..
