so i checked the mail today and I got my visa, yes!!! I'm leaving on nov 15 and we're getting married Nov 20 in Colorado. So exciting! But it doesn't stop there, now more paperwork before i can work.

First  ~~~~~~~~~~~~ CONGRATS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was lucky, after the wedding, I went to apply for my social security number. At first the lady said after my perm residence status was adjusted I was to go back and get the non working code off of my number. By the time we left, *I guess we made an impression* she said I could start working right away.

Not sure if she was mistaken, a few days later I went back to pick up the number. I was greeted by another nice lady in training. She verified there wasn't a non working code attached to my number and I was free to work right away.

This shows me some do overlook red tape maybe because it is a small town and they do see a face.

Good luck

Tic toc tic toc....

Oh the waiting...

It is so horrible while you're in it, and then when it's over....

.....it's over.

I apologize in advance for what you are about to read...

A Haiku:

My life in their hands

The Montreal Consulate

What do they do there?

Two more, just 'cos it's late and I'm delirious: :P

The clock ticks louder

I have entered a system

Why have I been judged?

Reason & logic

Governmental procedures

An oxymoron

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

Don't just do something. Sit there.

Spirit, I wrote something but it was too cynical (dystopian) for most people so I wrote these instead. :crying: These are not too be taken seriously nor are they determinative of my mental state. Enjoy (I didn't mean that in an ironic Rod Serling-esque way...or did I?)

Hey everyone!

I've been around for a while now, we applied for a K1, but canceled the app because of situation changes (I got wooed into a grad program with money and opportunities I couldn't turn down). Now we are married are getting ready to file a K3. Like a lot of Canadians, I'll be going through MTL. Am I seeing things as far as times at Montreal are concerned? When we filed our K1, they were at 2-4 months, when I checked in on times a couple months ago, they were at 6 months (I think). Am I seeing things right that they are now back a gleeful couple of months? Or is there some other step that has been added and the over-all time is still the same? I was so excited to see the time changes, since they are great for everyone, but I want to make sure before I get all excited. (On the other hand, I've also noticed VSC times are way up...win some, lose some, right?)

Hello Jess,

It is hard to predict. Have you clicked on Liz's signature spreadsheet?

She has meticulously kept track of only Montreal Consulate timelines.

I am at my turn for awaiting an interview...yes I have even begged them to see me before the end of the year.

I am not holding my breath though...but I have asked the universe to bend for me.

Future father-in-law is dying on us and I would love to get there ASAP and pour love and healing all over him.

This whole thing has made me extremely, uhm, there are no words to describe.

I hope for you things go smoothly, and you may notice that nothing seems to make sense... as far as timelines are concerned, let alone some other things.
