Hi all,

My wife is in Manila. We just got a RFI from NVC. We have to send them ans original NBI clearance. So I think they will get that from me next week.

My question is this: My wife wants to go to St Lukes in Manila and get her exam even though she doesn't have her Visa interview appt yet. She says its possible. I think if all goes well her interview will be in about 6 weeks. I know the NVC says dont do it but i've seen in this forum that some people have mentioned an advanced exam. Can she and should she go ahead and get her med exam? Can it be sent to the embassy just because she has a case number, even though the case is still at NVC? Thanks

Hi! Yes, she can have her medical exam even without an interview date yet. She will just present a copy of a NVC letter with her MNL case number.

Best of luck!

i just had my medical exam a week ago ;) just a reminder, tell her not to forget her passport coz it's important, she always need to present her passport from time to time at the medical clinic. and it's better for her to make an appointment online coz the lane for online and walk in is not the same. lane for walk in is way longer than the lane for online appoinment! :)

GOODLUCK!!!

yes she can take her medical right now, but somehow this idea have some advantage and disadvantage too,, the advantage of having the medical earlier is that if the medical result have some issues or lets say she didn't passed the medical then the delays will not be so bad..but keep it on mind that the medical has an expiry date of 6 months after,,

A potential disadvantage of having an early medical: the expiration date on the visa will be six months from the date of the medical, not six months from when the visa was issued. However, that won't be a problem if she plans to travel to the U.S. soon after visa approval.
