Hello,

When I filled out my application for my fiancee, there was an area that asked if we wanted the social security card without going to social security office. When can we expect this card? Do we have to do something or will it be automatic?

When should I apply for authorization to work? My fiance arrives Novemeber 24.

When we made our application and my fiancee interviewed, I lived in Arizona but I have taken a new job and I now live in Washington. Do I need to file a change of address or will we be fine when we arrive at SeaTac?

Thank you

Hello,

Usually, it comes in 1-2 months. However, sometimes it doesn't get issued. The best thing to do is check with your local Social Security office.

After you get marry, you file to adjust your wife's status to a green card holder. At that time, you can apply for work authorization.

Don't worry about this. When you file for AOS, you can provide your new address.

Checking that box on the form does not apply for someone entering with a K-1. That is for those entering with a spousal visa. You have to go to the SSA and apply in person. People typically wait about 10-14 days after entry so their info is entered into the database before going: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

After you are married, she will apply for AOS and include the application for employment authorization then: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
