On Monday, Reymundo Hernandez, 25, was arraigned in Greene County Circuit Court after he reportedly had multiple sexual encounters with a 12-year-old girl.

The victim's mother contacted police after her daughter told her that she had sex with Hernandez at a local park.

The girl was then taken for a medical exam where it was determined that she was pregnant.

Greene County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Casey Clark told KY3 News that Hernandez began a relationship with the girl through social networking websites.

Clark said: "Through online contact, there was a decision to meet in person."

"She disclosed to her mother and to law enforcement that she had had intercourse with the 25-year-old defendant," Clark added.

Hernandez has admitted to having sex with the girl, according to court documents.

Hernandez has been charged with statutory sodomy and statutory rape and is currently being held in the Greene County Jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

His next court appearance is scheduled for August 27.

Hernandez was already in jail on assault charges, as he allegedly attempted to run over someone with his vehicle. He also has a previous conviction for DUI in California.

I do agree with you that because an illegal alien committed a Violent crime does is no indication that all or even a lot of illegal aliens are Violent criminals. Most I know are hard working decent people that should be ejected from this country immediately. Norice I said most are not violent criminals. All are criminals.. That is a fact.

there's a rwnj guy who comments about illegal aliens on my local paper's online site whenever there is a mugshot shown of a brownish person, regardless of any mention of their status. it never fails.

we have a pretty large hispanic and jamaican community here in winchester - because of all the apple picking that goes on here. lots of migrant workers. it's really sad to see such a large number of people and their children be unfairly judged by others in the community because of their skin color/accent.

the issue isn't immigration-illegal or otherwise. the issue is the dangers of children using social networking sites, where child molesters are on the prowl...

CPS should also investigatye the parents on how their 12 year old managed to be impregnated by a pedophile.

While it is true a US citizen could have committed the same crime, there is an "additional wrongness" or added irony when the bad-guy should have never been there to begin with.

It's similar to those cases when someone get let out of jail early or the system fails to punish prior crimes.... and then this person harms another victim, it takes on a even greater sting because by any sense of justice the person should have never had the opportunity.

So this is our justice/ immigration system now, we have these folks who have streamed across our borders, no background check no health check no papperwork and Obama says we have to wait for something like this to happen before we even act.

That's just wrong man.
