Hey guys!

I was just wondering if of those who have co sponsors wrote and additional letter of intent stating that the co sponsor will financially support the fiance upon his arrival with the K1 visa and prevent the fiance to become a public charge to the US government?

Since im only a college student(graduating in April 2013) and I have no work. My mother is willing to be the co sponsor.

I was thinking of sending it with my I 129F packet... what you guys think?

YES?

NO?

Not a good idea?

Totally not worth the time?

Thanks for you opinions!

OKAY..

THANKS GUYS !!!

Not needed. Proof of financial support will be needed for the interview stage.

Hey thanks for your reply..

Do you think that I should include it during the interview for my fiance given my situation? Or it wouldn't make a difference?

Thank you so much for your patience!!

In a joint sponsor case like yours, I believe it's important for the petitioner to attend the interview. You yourself should give the letter from your joint sponsor to the consular officer.

Not required. The 134 form completed by the cosponsor, for the interview, does the same job. No need to add needless paperwork.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

That being said, I do believe Manila does not accept cosponsors on K-1s. Go to the appropriate regional forum for better information.

It's a letter of intent to marry.

OP was not asking about a letter of intent to marry, they were asking about a letter of intent to provide financial support.

Manila accepts K-1 joint sponsors on a case-by-case basis. I'd say it's at least a 50/50 acceptance rate.
