Bank account is a good way to show that a petitioner can sponsor the benificiary, but this is not the main thing to prove that the petitoner is eligible. Are you the benificiary? Does the petitoner have children? If there is? How many? If none then state then maybe I can be of help

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

The petitioner needs to pass the poverty guidelines for 2012. It has to be 125%.

I am the petitioner and there is no kids...

So if you are employed you need to be earning the minimum for two persons which is currently $18,912.

Petitioner LPR upgraded to USC June 22, 2012
August 22, 2012: case complete
October 18, 2012: Interview (APPROVED)
October 26, 2012: Picked up visa from DHL (delay caused by Sandy)
December 15, 2012: POE Atlanta....................became USC July 2016!!!!

Mothers' Journey (My sister is the petitioner)

September 10, 2013: Sent I-130 (UPS next day service)

September 12, 2013: Received text to confirm delivery

September 16, 2013: Received NOA 1

March 22, 2014: Received NOA 2

April 8, 2014: File Received by NVC

May 26, 2015: Interview (approved)..........now LPR (delays caused by 2 RFE)

Yes, but they are asking about money in the bank account/ assets, which is three times as much.

hi...how much money does a person need to have on

a bank account in order to not need a co-sponsor if u apply for a k-1 visa please?

Your question is a bit vague. Do you currently enough income to meet or beat the 125% poverty level guideline? If you do, then you do not need any money in the bank or to list any assets at all on the I-134. There is no requirement to have any certain amount of money in a bank account.

If you do not meet the 125% requirement, then your assets need to be 3 times the amount you are short on income. If you have zero income, then you would need at the very least $56,736 in savings/assets for a household size of 2. If you currently earn $15k but you need $19k in income, then you need 3 times the $4k you are short, or $12k.

What your current income and employment situation is, plus your household size is helpful knowledge in order to help answer your question about what is needed for the affidavit of support.
