Not sure when you started going to Nigeria but those of us that were born there and grew up there knows that this advisement style is not normal from the US Embassy. You'll have to read the whole bulletin, which I did, to discern the differences of tribes, cities and regions mentioned.

The posting is typical , the tensions moves about a bit but the words are the same. Although the additional checkpoints I am sure means a higher "toll" in traveling to and from Abuja. I always thought that a car thief would never get far leaving Lagos with all the stops, unless of course the had the proper paperwork and "fees"

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
