Taking evidence of seeking employment to CR1 interview

Hi all

I have not posted in a while but was thinking ahead!

My husband (USC) filed the I-130 in July and we are aware we need a joint sponsor for I-864 because my husband is on disability benefits! Before the interview I would like to start emailing out my resumes to potential employers in the area I will be living to begin networking and seeking employment for after I arrive in the US.

I am an RN in the UK but am happy to seek employment as a CNA in the US until I get registered in the US so I am aware that there are many potential future employers there.

I do not wish to be a burden on the state and want to financially support myself and my husband and I want to show the consular officer who interviews me that! Do you think that by taking my resume (which shows a vast amount of education and experience along with a continous employment history) to the interview as well as correspondence from potential employers about employment would help with this?

December 2009 - Spent 5 months together in England

May 2010 - We both went to America when we spent 2 weeks together

August 2010 - Spent 3 weeks together in America

December 2010 - Spent 5 months together in England

May 2011 - We both went to America together where we spent 2 weeks together

September 2011 - Spent 3 weeks together in America

December 2011 - Spent 5 months together again in England as with the previous years!

April 2012 - spent 2 weeks together in America, got married on May 8th in America!!!!!!!

I honestly don't think it'll be necessary since you're going to be filing with a co-sponsor anyway. When my husband went for his interview this week, they only asked him what he planned on doing for work in the US but having additional proof of job seeking wasn't necessary. Also, I'm not sure if sending resumes and other "job seeking" activities are legal without already having the right to work in the US so that may also be something to look into. I'm sure that when it comes time to interview, simply telling the interviewer that you work as a nurse in the UK and an to d so in the US will suffice. The main thing the US is concerned about is that the petitioner offer enough proof of income (with a co-sponsor or otherwise) that they can support the beneficiary. That is my understanding, at least. Good luck with the rest of your journey :)

08/28/12: IV Bill Shows PAID

09/07/12: AOS Packet Received and Accepted by NVC
09/05/12: IV Packet Received and Accepted by NVC
09/07/12: Case Complete
10/09/12: Medical
10/15/12: Interview! APPROVED!!
10/19/12: Visa in Hand, Delivered at 2:55pm GMT
10/20/12: POE at LAX, Flight arrives at 7:15pm
10/23/12: Went to local SSA office, applied for SSN
10/27/12: Social Security card arrived by mail
11/6/12: Green Card arrived in the mail!

I-751 Journey (Removal of Conditions)

07/23/14: Sent ROC Paperwork to CSC

07/25/14: NOA Received

07/29/14: Check for application & biometrics cleared bank

08/18/14: Biometrics Completed

I agree it is not necessary. I even told the CO I planned to be a stay at home mom and they were fine with that. As long as the co-sponsor is well qualified you will be fine.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I was under the impression that I could seek work before authorisation but not start work! Is this true??
