Hi everyone!

I am so thankful that a site like this exists and that so many of you are so willing to share your experiences and volunteer to help!

My husband and I (he's American, I'm Canadian) were just married on the 6th. We are awaiting the marriage certificate to begin our immigration adventure of moving me to the USA.

We live in border towns, so it's strange to us that we need to go through so much when we live so close.

If anyone can direct me on the best place to really begin to collect information, I'd be most grateful.

Visa Journey is a great site for info and helpful advice but you should also be aware of and reference the US government site. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2991.html

You will be applying for a CR1 given your recent marriage. Congratulations by the way!

Welcome....! :) and congrats on your newly wedded bliss........ Wow, so close but yet so far... To bad the distance isn't some sort of exception to the rules... :( I wish you luck... I'd advise making tons of inquiries on the Canadian forum, there's bond to be tons of people on there to help you as well as questions you want answered already answered...
