Things You May Not Know About Me

I used to play the trumpet and wanted to become a professional musician, but my parents did not let me take piano lessons because they hated that idea.

I started my college career as a biochemistry major, and switched to humanities midway because my peers were so boring that I couldn't imagine spending days in the lab with them.

I was on an hourlong nation-wide radio debate in front of an audience on the subject of financial cuts in education.

I was responsible and will be again the layout of a small progressive newspaper (if they still exist upon my return)

Even though I work with language and literature, I hate learning languages so much that I did only take AP-classes in the sciences. Nevertheless, I subject myself to a new language every few years; now I'm learning Dutch.

I have my own sense of order, but most people think I'm chaotic (no OCD for me).

- I am deathly afraid of knives. Even when peeling potatoes with a regular peeler, it takes me forever and when I'm done, my hand is stiff from gripping the potato so hard.

-I was on TV in high school for my vocational studies.

- In 1994 I placed 14th at national competition in Business Professionals of America for Office Specialist.

-While at the competition, I decided to stay in the hotel on my last full day there and missed a chance at seeing Arnie the now governator.

-Before having my teeth capped, two of my front teeth were chipped and when putting them together, I made the shape of the state of Texas.

- I have AB negative blood and I donate.

-I'm allergic to the sun and can only be in direct sunlight about 20 minutes before I'm really burnt bad.

-When I was 5, I threw up in my sleep, laying on my back, and slept through it. My sister woke me up before I choked to death.

- I slept through a house fire, until the alarm clock woke me and I was able to get out of the house.

- I have a step cousin who was in Friday the 13th part 5.

- Abraham Lincoln is my great great great great uncle on my mother's side.

- My mom, sister, and I all sound alike on the phone and can't tell each other apart when we call each other.

- My father was born a blue baby (not breathing) and when I was born, though I wasn't blue, I wasn't breathing either.

- My mom broke the "push handle" on the delivery table with both me AND my sister.

- I learned to crochet when I was 8 years old.

- I can water witch.

- I have the IQ of a genius but am backwards socially.

- Most perfumes give me migraines.

- I used to have Supergirl underroos.

- I can make three loops with my tongue.

I started this thread as a sort of experiment to see something - and I was right, you're all fukcin' wacked!!!! I'm kidding, you know that, right? Cuz I'm in there too tho no worries hehehe It's the freakin' immigration process that does it to us!!

Hmmmmmmm Sharonnnnnnnnn I dont CAREEE how lame this sounds to ANYONEEE(so make fun of me all day!! ) but hmmm...do you think..maybe sometime....when you see Cooter(hahahaha ok..Ben) you could get him to sign a pic of the General Lee for me?? HM?? Hmmm??? I mean, he MUST have some!!!! I wasn't raised with a television, but we would go to my cousins a lot of times on Friday nights and I would watch Dukes of Hazzard just glued to the TV..would 'make' my parents wait to leave until it was over.. would SO make my day no matter how cheesy it sounds!!!! Just if the opportunity ever presents itself is all.. M.

I cringe every time I think of it.

You may not know that:

I'm afraid to share certain things because you'll all think I'm nuts haha

I have an uncanny psychic ability (or maybe just a very strong mother's instinct) when it comes to my children and I have had it from the moment each one of them were born. I've saved the life of my 2 oldest children on separate occasions from just that "feeling" and by rushing to their side was able to revive them.

I blame myself for my oldest girl having epilepsy because she most likely has it from being deprived of oxygen when she was a newborn. At the moment when I had "that feeling" with her when she was just 3 weeks old, it was because she was starting to die from SIDS. Something told me I'd better get in there and check on her, and when I rushed in there she was absolutely blue, not breathing and a weak sporadic pulse. Took me 3 or 4 minutes before I was able to bring her back and she was crying by the time the paramedics got there but ever since that day I keep saying to myself "If only I'd gotten there a few minutes sooner she wouldn't be having to take meds for the rest of her life. But then I think "But she is ALIVE and well and is still HERE." Brrrrrrrr....just remembering this now makes me all jittery.

I absolutely dread ever getting that said feeling ever again....it's scary as hell. But if it means that I get to save one of my children's lives then bring 'em on!

I'll see what I can do, Michelle. I think he might be at his farm in Tennessee right now because he has 2 and alternates between them. I think he goes to the other one during the winter but I;ll take a drive down this afternoon and see if I see his truck in the driveway. I'll let ya know, k?

I would look at that and think back on all those times with my cousin(we were only a couple months apart in age and close) She liked Luke, I liked Bo(but we both liked Cooter of course... ) I have a memory box and I love to keep all lil tidbits of things.that would be so nice to have!

This about me, well i am deathly afraid of Grasshoppers, Living in Sask Canada damn things were everywhere. It is wierd too cause when i was a kid i used to play doctor and rip there legs off, now if one even comes close to me i am so running in another direction screaming my head off.

I am a big nature nut, I love wildlife , anything outdoors, from gardening to just sitting and watching everything around me.

I went to a sorority formal in college. It was at a hotel. Barry Sanders and Herman Moore (Detroit Lions players) were having a fund raiser that same night....I drunkenly accosted Barry for a picture (which I got) and had to be dragged off him by his security guard. not one of my finer moments to be sure.
