Once arriving in the US on your K-1 Visa and after you're married, what is the next step? Do you file an I-485 Form?

Also, once you have your SSN# does that mean you're legally able to work, or you would still need to request permission to work with a I-765 Form?

Thanks! :)

:guides: you will find the K-1 flow chart to be quite useful. You need the EAD in order to work.

Go ahead and apply for the SSN about 2 weeks after entry. You need to file for adjustment of status and receive your EAD or green card before you can work. The social security card will come with this printed on it: "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION". The authorization is the EAD or green card.
