Made Money Order payment to wrong reciever!

I made the payment with three separate money orders, because that's how WU produced them. Two for $500 and one for $70. I made it to "Department of Homeland Security" because i read that on the USCIS site:

"Filing Fee :$985. (Add $85 biometric fee for a total of $1070, where applicable. See the form instructions for payment details.) You must make your check payable to Department of Homeland Security."

However under "lockbox filing tips link" it says:

"Checks must be made payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Read the form instructions for additional details."

So which is it? U.S. Department of Homeland Security, or Department of homeland security? Does it matter that I sent three separate money orders?

As you stated you made the M.O.'s out to the "Department of Homeland Security." That should not be a problem. You spelled it out correctly and did not use any acronyms like "DHS" or "USCIS." Again, it shouldn't be a problem.

N-400 on or after 12/15/15
