Here's a story that I heard about and can't believe it would pass by immigration but we'll see:

Permanent Resident in the U.S. meets a moroccan woman on the internet, goes and marries her on the first visit. Returns back to the U.S. after the marriage and submits paperwork. That was in the beginning of 2011, since then he hasn't returned to see her. Is it possible that their marriage visa be approved ? If it is, then I have no faith in this whole system, two people in love can not go over two years without seeing each other! Correct me if I'm wrong???

Of course it is possible. But it depends on the consulate. Nigeria? probably not. Morocco or Vietnam? Probalby not. UK? Maybe, its possible. Australia? Possible again.

A couple from NZ posted last year about receiving an RFE at the interview as to why it was 18 months without a visit. Once it was explained (I cannot remember why) the visa was issued

Good luck

It is highly possible. YOu just have to prove that you have been in communication for the entire period of time.

They would make the person wait in line. I believe permanent residents have to wait over a year before USCIS approves their application anyways. At that point, they will review everything and make a decision.

WIth the I130 there is no required meeting in person within the 2 years of filing. But I know of many people who have gotten married on first visit and then file and get denied because they never made another visit.

When it comes to visas and approvals who knows why the consulate does what it does sometimes. :bonk:
