Hello fellow VJs,

I am currently waiting on my NOA2 for my fiance visa.

My fiance is in Iran and as you may there's a lot of turmoil going on there.

I have heard of the rumor of "people getting rejected" for no reason for their K1 and K3 visas. It has been really stressing me out to hear that and wanted to know if anyone has experienced this or knows of someone that has gotten rejected for no obvious reason. I would appreciate anyone from Iran or any other middle eastern country responding and letting me know! :help:

Hello fellow VJs,

I'm going to respond to this since nobody else has. First, I would read the VJ reviews for the Embassy, read posts in the MENA forum, and also the forum for Waivers/Administrative Process (221g) to see if other members talked about denials and what happened. I don't have any experience or know anybody, but I have seen people from all over say they were denied for no reason. I don't really know if they were honestly ignored when asking why or maybe they didn't understand the reasons? Who knows?

I will say this, try and focus on just your situation. Be real about your case and what, if any, red flags you may have. If you have a solid relationship, have every requirement met, all your paperwork/evidence in order, understand and can address any issues they might bring up, then I would just put your head down and keep pushing forward because not much else is under your control.

I know my situation is different, but my fiance is an Armenian who has Iranian citizenship and lives in Kuwait. I'll be honest, he did wonder if he could get denied just because he has Iranian citizenship. He just had his interview in Kuwait and 2 days later was issued his K-1 visa. All we did was what I told you and it worked out in the end for us. I hope the same for you.

Good luck

Rumors are rumors. People from have never been rejected for no reason and never will. However because of the recent developments in Iran there is a good chance FBI checks after interview are going to be longer and they are going to be more through per say at the interview. We Iranians like to believe we are considered in the same bunch as our government, but the truth is, at least the immigration process in the states is not biased.
