leaving the us, before recieving a green card

hi, I'm a K1 visa holder and i'm in process of filling all the papers for a green card. i want to go to a 2 weeks trip out of the country and my visa, as you know, is a one entry type. Is there a chance for me to leave the country before getting my green card? i saw this i-131 travel form. that's one of the optional forms, but it goes with all the other papers. So can you tell me if there's other chance for me to travel, or i have to get the green card first?

If you didn't or don't apply for Advanced Parole before receiving the green card...if you leave the country, you will not be able to get back in. Your spouse would have to file the I-130 and start the process for obtaining the spousal visa. Spend two weeks out of the country without the proper documentation can cost you many, many months apart.

You can travel if you have an approved I-131 in your hand before you go. If you leave before that is approved, your AOS will be considered abandoned. It takes about 3 months to be approved from when you send in the papers.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
