Unfortunately, that's like asking "how long is a piece of string?".

There is no one answer fits all. In our case, David's visits to the US were April (1 week), October (2+ weeks), March (3 weeks), June (2-3 weeks), then arrived on K-1 in August.

He did get interviewed once for one of the latter visits, asking how much money he had, how we was going to pay for his visit here, etc but was allowed through. I don't know where you are from, but he always first flew through Dublin (where he was interviewed before) because if he got turned back then at least he wouldn't have as far to return back to England.

The main thing appears to be how many visits to the US (as if you are basically living in the US with a few trips back home) and/or length of visits (along with how much money one has with them, who visiting, etc). The more visits one makes the more likely you are going to at least be interviewed.

Hope that helps.

Daniel,

There is no time requirement. The requirement is that you are visiting the USA, not living in the USA and calling it visiting.

Hello everyone!

If you enter the US on a Visa Waiver Program, how many days must you wait until you can re-enter?

is it 1 year, 3 months, etc??

thanks in advance for anyone who responds!

Daniel

Hi,

I did this in January this year when I tried to skip out to Canada and then re-enter the US. I wont go into the path I tried to take...long and short of it, I'm in London, so my attempt was not a success...but I did talk to a really helpful US Customs official who explained that all I needed to do was skip out to Canada for a couple of weeks, though he advised the longer the better, so 3 or 4 weeks are best and then you're free to get straight back in. He was also one of the officials who sits at customs letting people in and out and he said he lets people through if they've been out for a couple of weeks (again, dependent on how often the person has been in) Of course it becomes more and more difficult the greater number of times you re-enter. But for the first few times...your fine! :) Good luck!!!
