Change of address

I live in Boston and our K-1 Fiance Visa is being processed at the Vermont Service Center.

I have received the notice of receipt for the I-129F, but not the approval yet. I expect it to take 1-2 months more.

I will be moving to Los Angeles for work (I have a good job opportunity and this is where we want to live).

If I change my address now, will it affect the timeline of approval? Will we be put at the back of the line in the California service center?

Should I wait until after the approval?

Also, I saw a change of address form on the USCIS site, but also saw somewhere that the proper way to change my address is by phone, so which way should I do it?

thanks.

I think you must notify the USCIS within 10 days of moving, but can't be sure, may be 2 weeks?

You can change it by calling them on 1-800-375-5283 or fill out the online change of address form. It won't delay your application and you won't be transferred to the CSC, Vermont is processing your application and once approved they will forward it to the NVC.

My Fiance had to change his postal (not residential) address after getting our NOA1 and he did it by calling that number, we received our NOA2 3 months after our NOA1, so no delay there. He changed his residential address again the other week when he moved back from Alaska to MT and used the same number again, no problems, no delays, got our interview in December. You'll be fine.

Thanks very much. That is very helpful.
