I have been doing some reasearch and it appearsa that women get approved at a much higher rate and faster during their first interviews. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Hmm... Interesting thought, but not sure if it's true. I hope it is true in my case, however.

Which consulate?

That souns logical. If you follow the details of the individual cases you will see why.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I think it is region specific. It depends on the historic number of problems in the area. When it comes to the MENA posters I don't often hear a man come here and say they were duped about a visa and their female mena partner left but I do see frequent woman posting that. I bet in other areas where I see men posting that their spouse vanished the woman have a lower success rate than the men.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Ex USSSR comes to mind.

I have no numbers to back it up but it would make sense.. Men commit crimes at a higher rate and it is probably assumed they commit fraud at a higher rate. They most likely get more scrutiny. The only official number that I have seen is that 47% of all family based visas are given to men. The number means nothing since we do not know how many of those are spousal visas and we do not know what the percentage of applications are from men.. The numbers are probably out there somewhere, I just have not looked.

Having said that, I bet the numbers are probably more skewed than simple suspicion of men in general would explain. I would attribute that to the larger number of men applying from MENA countries that have a lower rate of approval.

In the end the country your family member is coming from is far more important than the gender.

My interview went very smooth and it didn't take more than 5 min for them to approve it.

I believe that part of it is culture, they might see it as an Arabic woman is less likely to commit marriage fraud just to get to the US. Families are more involved in marriages in islamic countries and it's not very common to see a lot of mixed couples in morocco where the woman is the moroccan one but it's more likely to see moroccan males married to non moroccan...maybe that can be one of the reasons but maybe i'm wrong.

Thank you Mayarz for your insight. I did notice this is both Egypt and Morocco. Women tended to be very reserved, and devoted to their families, while the men were out looking to better themselves or find a way up the ladder.

I can tell you that my wife and I talk everyday as we can, and there hasn't even been one day since we met where we haven't talked. I just pray November 7th comes quickly.
