I just don't understand USCIS sometimes..

My prob... I notice that they made a typo on my NOA1 for 485 ...instead of IR they had FB2A. I called in and told them on the 19th. So they sent me a response/notice yesterday saying that they cannot correct it since I have been scheduled for an interview with my local USCIS office and I will have to take up this prob with them on day of interview. Well I have not receieved an interview notice.. So I am thinking oh H'll I did not get the notice and I may have past my date. So I called in and the young man I spoke with says well it has not been scheduled yet it is in the process of being schedule? Oh give me strength dear God...now what? anyone has ideas? similiar prob? thanks C

I went to my local USCIS office and unfortunately, they weren't too much of help. The lady I spoke with told me that a local office can only collect all copies of my documentation (an offer letter, biometrics appointment notice etc) and mail them to the USCIC office address. They have no power to impact the decision on expediting my EAD and they cannot guarantee my request will be successful. She advised me to mail it on my own and that would be the quickest way.

To speed things up I decided to turn to my congressman and I already received an initial confirmation that he might be able to help me out. I'll see how it goes!

Wow! Your interview notice came so quickly! My husband completed his biometrics on 10/30 and we haven't heard a peep, one of the many downfalls of living in Los Angeles, I suppose... Everything here is slower!

Not really. I live in Missouri where the NBC is and I applied on September 2012 and I still haven't gotten my appointment. Some people are faster than others regardless of when they applied for some reason. There are a lot of September filers and even August filers who are still stuck at NBC and haven't heard anything after the biometrics were done. I have heard people that it's taking over 4 months these days to get the GC.

wow thats really fast. does your case # start with MSC?

I think all AOS cases start with MSC (Missouri Service Center) and K1 applicants seem to be taking over 4 months these days.

Yes you will get interview notice soon

I did my biometrics On October 3rd and still no interview.

For anyone going to the Indianapolis office on N. Meridian St. there is a little street south of the building called St. Joseph and there is a pay parking lot for $5 a day. I am going Monday, but I did a drive by yesterday to scope out the area. There are some street meters but St. Joseph is probably the safest bet, though the street is very narrow. The lot is on the east side - and you enter it from St. Joseph. :)
