APPROVED!!!

Here's a little snapshot on how it worked out:

On May 2nd, I called USCIS and spoke with a tier-2 rep who put in a service request and gave me a reference number to call back in 15 days if they hadn't reply. After the 15 days and nothing from them, I called back and they told me to add 30 more days (I was super frustrated, attempted to make an info pass appointment at our local office in Baltimore but to no avail).

So on June 20th, after my husband read someone's post on here, that called a tier-2 and was able to get a service request put in at their local office and subsequent approval a week later; he (my hubby) called and the tier-2 rep he spoke with told him that she will put in a service request at our local field office (our case is already there). We made an info pass appointment the following day for July 3rd just to cover our bases (It turns out we wouldn't need it)

Today, the 24th, we got our approval email!:)kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

...Sending a lot of good vibes to our fellow October filers yet to be approved- yours is almost here too!!!

Congrats to everyone who recently got approved - this means they are working on October filers at least! This also explains the super weird phone call I just got!!

A few minutes ago, my cell phone rang while I was at work and the oddest number showed up on the caller ID. It was all 0s and normally, I would send an unknown number to voicemail, but for whatever reason I decided to answer. I'm so glad I did!! It was an Immigration Officer who wanted to confirm who I was and my husband's name.

After I confirmed all of my information, he asked, "Did you send a copy of your marriage license with the application?"

I said, "Yes, absolutely, because we ordered certified copies. In fact, I know we sent 3 copies."

Then he said, "Oh, well we must have lost it then, can you fax it over?" He then gives me the number.

I said, "Yes, no problem, I can do that within the hour."

He said, "OK great, when we get that, your husband should be getting his green card in the mail within two weeks."

Then I said, "That all sounds great. Is there anything else you need?"

Then he said no and apologized for losing the copy of the marriage license and said thanks.

So super random but WOW I'm so excited that they're working on October filers!!! I just hope what he said was true and we should actually be getting the green card soon! :) :)

So WOW completely unexpected to get a phone call like this and super excited to expect the green card coming soon :)

Annnnnd I just got this email!!! :) That definitely was fast, but it makes me wonder... the officer processing my file must have just looked at it TODAY, saw something was missing, called me and once I faxed it over, he closed out the file. Totally crazy that it happened so fast.

OH!!! One more thing I thought was interesting that I just realized: even though my case was processed at NBC, the fax number I had to send it to had the area code of my local USCIS office where I live... I believe the NBC is located in Missouri so theoretically if I had to send something via fax to someone processing at NBC, shouldn't it have a Missouri area code? Total speculation, but could this mean that some of us NBCers are going to be approved sooner if our files are being sent back to our local offices?

Sorry for some reason my text didn't attach to the last post!

Here's the message!

Hey, I was just checking up to see if you had received your green card yet and it appears we both had a similar experience!

I filed a service request a couple of weeks ago as my local office were working on Nov 17th cases and had gone past mine. On the 15th day of the service request, I got a phone call from the Manchester, NH office saying my second set of fingerprints hadn't gone through (taken 6 months ago) and could I bring in a police clearance letter and do a sworn statement. She said as soon as I bring it in she can start processing my green card and she was not going to bother doing an interview!

I went yesterday handed everything in and the guy I saw said I should have my green card in the next week!!!!!! I then said that my son is going to stay with his Dad in Spain over the summer and is leaving on sunday, so would be away when his green card arrives. The guy took both our passports typed a load of stuff into the computer and then stamped both the passports with a green/Ead stamp

Sunshine!!! Hi! :) Well, we just heard about the green card yesterday lol so we don't have it in hand yet, but soon hopefully! Yesterday was definitely a happy day! When I texted my mom to tell her that we heard back about my guy's green card, she said, "Wow, I thought that was all done already, they really do like to take their time." HA!

That's really awesome that you were able to file a service request and then get processed so quickly! I didn't realize they stamped something in your passport too. Super interesting. Congratulations!! :) What a great start to the summer!
