We got the EAD but still no word on scheduling of the interview...

Same here...Any method to the madness of how they selct who gets an interview invite and who they just process AOS and mail GC?

so just checked my wife's AOS status, it's showing this.

On January 13, 2013, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for February 28, 2013, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

It just says National Benefits Center online but its actually your local USCIS office, it'll say that in the notice you'll receive in the mail, i received my update saying that on January 13 they mailed me a notice for and interview on February 14, 2013 i should receive my notice in the mail today.

Biometrics done as scheduled November 13th

EAD received December 21

Interview scheduled Jan 9th

Changed address Jan 9th at interview

Approved 4 hrs after interview by mail

Revived green card in the mail today, Jan 17th 2013!

yep, got the mail last night, it indeed states that the interview will be held at my local USCIS office, 9:30 in the morning (2.5 hours drive away, ahhh, gotta get up super early, or spend the night there.).

Wow thats a long drive, i don't have that long drive but i'm sure i'll be the first of the day with an 8:05am appointment.. It takes me about 15 mins to get to the local office from where i live. So just for thought am i gonna be getting the IO thats lacking coffee for the morning or lacking sleep from the night b4, this makes me even more nervous.. :unsure:

You filed just after us and completed biometrics one day after. My husband got his EAD/AP approved on Dec 10th but we're still waiting for an interview date in Los Angeles. Hope we get the interview letter soon!!!

I believe that unless you file it at the same time as your AOS, you'll have to pay for it. I would just wait. You'll probably get your interview date soon and have your GC in hand before the 765 is even processed or approved.
