Specific question about the medical

Hi everyone.

So I got my medical done in September (before flu season shots were required), BUT, my interview is in November (during the season where flu shots are required).

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Will my medical still be approved without the flu shot since it was done prior to the flu-season requirement?

Opinions appreciated. And anyone with actual experience REALLY REALLY appreciated.

This is only an opinion, but I wouldn't say that it would matter. Because the physician already signed off on the vaccine list. The Dr. I had just checked, "not enough time" or something like that. I assume they would have done the same for you. There was a couple options, not age appropriate, not enough time, etc. Hopefully somebody else will chime in with a more satisfactory answer.

I had my medical done in September and my interview is coming up next week in October. I also didn't get the flu vaccine and saw a copy of my vaccination record that says I qualify for a waiver because it wasn't the flu season, basically. The sealed envelope they gave you at the appointment should say the same thing inside it. I don't expect to have any problems because of the flu shot and if I do will let you know next week - or you can always PM me too

CodyGrace... Yup, the doc def signed off on my vaccination record. I know this because he gave me an extra copy. I agree, it should be ok, but I guess I'm just trying to figure out how intense/hardcore/####### they are going to be at the consulate.

Or just go get the Flu shot before the Interview and get a receipt for it!!

I think they consider when the medical was done so it should be okay. They're mostly concerned about highly communicable diseases like tuberculosis, and for vaccines/immunity the ones they look for are MMR and varicella (chickenpox).

FYI an update - not having the flu shot done wasn't an issue

Same here! No issues. They didn't give me the flu shot because my interview was in August but I DID need to get it from a civil surgeon here in the US before they would sign my I-693 in September. I wouldn't worry about it.
