Hello everyone,

It's been a year and a half since I met my fiancee and I want to start the K1 process now, however I would like to double-check with you whether we still qualify or do we have to wait until we complete the two years period. I don't think that's the case but again, just double-checking.

Thanks a lot.

You don't have to know each other or be in a relationship for two years, you want to prove USCIS that you have met for the last two years. To qualify here's an example. If you saw each other last September 2010 since it's 25 months passed you have to see each other and make another trip, after September 2010 you're so fine. Have a smooth journey.

Petition now before your remaining 6 months is up. As the others said, it's not about the duration of your relationship. It's about meeting WITHIN 2 years before filing. It is an expiration for filing more or less. If you wait until the remaining 6 months is up, you will have to have another in person meeting.

You meet the criteria, I had only known my now wife for 6 months when we filed for K-1, and we had no issue whatsoever good.gif

Side note, can you modify your profile, it says you filed for 'Naturalization (Approved)', I'm guessing that's not correct? blush.gif

Best of luck to you
