Hello,

my mom has completed the I-864 as a joint sponsor and my father has completed the I-864A form as her earnings alone will not be enough for a household of 3. They have completed the forms, but I want to make sure they have completed the forms correctly.

I-864

Q1 - check D (I am the only joint sponsor (my father is not considered a joint sponsor in this case, correct?))

Q8 - Check "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant...) and check Yes

24b - Include the name of my father (I-864A filer) with the annual earnings

24- Check D (The person listed above has completed I-864A...)

I-864A

Q8 - Check C and "Spouse" since sponsor in this question means my mother ( my father's spouse) and not me

Q13 - in the "I, the sponsor,.." we put my mother's (I-864 filer/joint sponsor) name, correct?

Q13 - we put my husband's (intending immigrant) name and requested info in the box

Q15 - my father (I-864A filer) puts his name as household member

Thank you for your help

Thank you for the feedback.

My parents file taxes jointly and it is reflected in their tax transcripts (showing the filing status, spouses' names and social security numbers). Wouldn't that be enough for a proof of relationship? I intend to request in the cover sheet to use this as an evidence of relationship. I would include a marriage certificate but my parents don't seem to find it and getting a new one is near impossible. If the joint tax transcripts are not acceptable by NVC/CO as a proof that the joint sponsor and the household member are spouses, what else, besides the marriage certificate, will constitute one?

thank you in advance
