Timeline

My wife attached her W2 for last year tax returns but we read on the instructions she need her 1099, we are pretty confused as she cant find that one (1099)... do we need it as well ? the w2 are the same as the 1099? any thoughts?

You misread. not everyone has a 1099. You need to submit a complete copy of her US tax return, which may include any W2s, 1099s, schedules, and the 1040. What constitutes a complete tax return is different for every person. If your wife does not know what is in her complete tax return, then it is best to order a tax transcript, which has all the required information and is complete by itself.
