I submitted my wife's i864, but made the mistake of sending in my sponsor W2 without my full income tax info. I received a letter asking for the additional Information. Here is where it gets tricky, in gathering my full income tax I realized my household count was wrong based on my last years income tax document ( which is what they specify on the directions). So even though I no longer have the additional person I claimed living with me, I still should have placed them as a household member. No when I send my full tax information, do I send an updated i864? Will they except it? Maybe with an explanation of the oversight? Either way my salary covers the additional person easily. Just concerned with the disconnect. Please advise, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Get a tax return transcript free from the IRS and then you do not have to worry whether or not it is complete. It only takes around 5-10 days to receive: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Order-a-Transcript

Send them the transcript, a new I-864 and a letter explaining your initial omission of the dependent you needed to include.

I agree with this completely.
