Wondering what is the recent certified certificate requirement for filling AOS. Abstract or Original.I got married in Las Vegas(NV)living in Ca. Does anyone know which one should I order?

An abstract will have partial information and an original will have everything. I would get the original if it was me.

A copy of the original to send in and bring the original with you to an interview if you have one. You also can get a certified copy which is better, but only a copy of the marriage certificate is required.

Good luck,

Dave

Thank you for the answer. The marriage certificate I got right after from the pastor in Las Vegas Chapel probably useless for immigraton purposes.it is motlikely a keepsake. The back side says that it isn't official use so probably I have to order the copy of the original certificate. Am I right??

Yep, order the official one. Sometimes they give you a nice-looking one to "frame" but it doesn't prove anything for USCIS purposes.

I got an original copy of our marriage license/certificate (As it is in Montana). It was a photocopy of the original document but notarized by the county clerk. For the small cost ($5), I think that's your best bet, just to play it safe.

Hello, What are the first steps of the greencard process trugh marriage? I always thought N#1 is Adjustment of Status package. Is that truth that my husband needs to file I-30 first and secondarily needs to file the AOS package with the attached receipt of the filled I-30 form. Greatly appreciate any answers.

if you married and came to the united states 1-130 cr-1 visa, you will receive your green card stamped in your passport. good for one year after you arrive in the us you should receive your green card in the mail about a month an a half,, if your here in the united states and file the 1-130 and 1-485 togather aos package and your approved you will get your green card,

It seems that you have made four separate posts in the span of couple of days all on different forums.. Better to keep your questions under one thread, and stick to one forum (this one). It'll make it easier for you to keep up with the responses and people here to help you, when all the relevant information about your case is in that one thread.

If I have pieced this together correctly from your other posts, you are adjusting status from B2 overstay as a result of marrying a US citizen. If this is the case, then you file the I-130 and I-485 concurrently. You don't need to get the I-130 approved first, you can send everything in together when you file AOS in the US. The I-130 establishes the basis for your eligibility for AOS (i.e. the marriage to a US citizen), and I-485 is the actual AOS application form.

The one we ordered from New York Vital Record is a certified birth certificate but only one page.I have ordered for Government purposes( didn't have immigration). I have only gotten one page. It contains his name and birth place with the b. date and parents names and has a sealed stamp with official signature. I am worried that they want the long-long version with all of the birth hours, parents age and occupation the time of birth, other living children etc...Do you remember what did you submitted back than? please let me know..thank you
