Is there a way of expediting visa/passport return after beneficiary's interview?

A friend of mine who petitioned his wife years and years ago told me that he paid an expedite fee and they were able to get his fiancee's visa and passport a couple of days after the interview. Of course when I ask him for more detail, he says he no longer remembers how he did it. Does anyone know if there's such an option? Thanks!

I got my visa after 2 days back in 2005. The US Embassy used to have Delbros delivered it during my time. They use 2Go now which seems to be a slacker.

that was many many years to expedite you can pay a fee,not now you need a good cause hardship, emergency medical treatment, very good reasons,call the customer service two tier officer ask about expedite your case

So the delay is most caused by the courier that delivers the Visa? Isn't there an option of picking up the Visa instead of waiting for it to be delivered? So if we can cut off the delivery time by opting to pick up the visa ourselves.. does anyone know how long (on average) the consulate takes to process the Visa? Thanks!

You can always ask the consul right after the interview for permission to pick up the visa. I'm planning to ask my mom to do the same. The US Embassy already approved the expedited processing of my case for the interview so I might as well as to have the visa be picked up as well.

No, most delays are from the embassy, all visa applications have a final review before they are "approved" and the visa is printed and stuck in the passport, after that its scheduled for pickup by 2G0.

2GO is very quick with gettting the packets delivered. You can pick up the visa packet... at 2G0, not the embassy.

Years ago, 1990's you received your visa the day of the interview. You can pay to expedite a passport, you do that with applying for the passport.
