I am looking on the U.S Consulate in Saint petersburg Russia's website for the next form, but I really do lack skills navigating websites sometimes haha, where do I begin looking for my fiance's side of things? I want to help her and myself know where to look once it becomes appropriate to start doing that leg of the procedure, I mean I know there are several months before this is even a worry, but Knowing where it is now will help me get a head start when it comes to crunch time.

thanks for everyone's help!! :)

You need to be looking at the US Embassy Moscow site.

She will be having her interview in Moscow, not St. Petersburg.

are you sure? STPB has a Consulate, and she has had an interview for her J-1 visa before. Moscow and STPB are a long way for each other.

K-1 visas are done in Moscow. Take the train.

Yes. Trust us as many of us have done this already. The K-1 interviews in Russia are only done at the embassy in Moscow.

As baron said, have her take the train.

Nope, they will figure out what is correct and send the documents to the correct Embassy. Get your interview documents together, you have some to send her and she has some to complete there.....all are found on the Embassy website....note that the DS-156K form is and must be completed in Russian and is only available from the Moscow Embassy website.

Police certs? Are you going to attend the interview? You can now!

I probably will not be able to attend the meeting, but that is something I will look into a little way down the line. "note that the DS-156K form is and must be completed in Russian" that form must be completed in Russian by me or her? when do you think is a good idea to complete these forms?

When you get the NOA2. You can get your employer's letter now and predate a new Letter of Intent.

Also the free tax transcripts from the IRS for the last three years ought to be done now.

She, can begin to check out the forms she will need to complete (or you can do them for her and send them in a package along with your forms at the appropriate time....we did this).

I just checked your timeline....you guys have many months of waiting, concentrate on your relationship and discuss how her life will be so different here, finances, English, classes, learning to drive, what kind of jobs she may even have a remote shot at, etc.

those are some good ideas, thank Baron555, you are very helpful! she is currently working on her "specialist" degree, its a 5 year one, in between a BA and a Masters. In Wine Making a Brewing, she also is getting a second diploma in English. Her English is not bad at all, as with everyone it has room for improvement. I was actually thinking when she first gets here, since she already has a SS from the J-1 enrolling her in some sort of Communication class just so she can get submerged in talking English A lot. I forgot to note that she is almost finished with that degree, all things considered she will be done before this process is complete, the bringing her here portion not the change in status and marriage part.

If she gets an international drivers license just before she comes here, will that still be valid for her to drive on?
