You can believe it - I never gave them the chance to notify me since I was calling ever day

Seriously though - I received nothing until the notice of our interview date. So hang in there... you will see it before you know it!

That is okay, I was still calling and asking if it was completed every month for an entire year, I was afraid we would get to the interview and be missing something LOL. But everything was good, we were affected by retrogression, so I was always wanted to make sure we had the most current docs. our case was completed in January 2011, retrogression hit but we got the interview August 2012. They didnt even ask for my tax information for 2011, which I had ready to give them just in case. Congrats.

thank you guys, does it mean my joint sponsor has been accepted by them? and i do not need to send them any further document? now its time to be happy :D

I would guess NVC's role is more like an initial check. Ultimately, it's consulate's call to determine whether to accept a joint sponsor. Anyhow, each step moving forward is worthy to celebrate:) Congrats and welcome joining the P4 crowd!

They will not mail anything..there isn't anything to mail. If u have doubts then use the NVC case # and Invoice ID to sign into the payment portal. if a failed msg is received then often times the case is removed from their system..

A "sign in fail" doesn't ALWAYS mean case completed and a case that's completed may not receive a SIF until the interview is scheduled.

No, you do not need to submit another affidavit since it does not expired. Now since the consul is the one that approved the I-864, it is up to him to say your affidavit qualify. Remember the NVC does not approve the affidavit, they just make sure the form is properly complete and have the necessary papers need it for it. The approval is done by the consul at the interview.

Expiration of the I-864

Will the I-864 I submitted expire if my relative's interview is delayed for any reason?

No, the validity of the I-864, I-864 EZ, or I-864A is considered indefinite; beginning from the date the sponsor files it with the National Visa Center, the U.S. embassy or consulate.

Death of the Sponsor

If the sponsor dies after the principal applicant has immigrated to the United States but before other qualified family members have immigrated, can another sponsor be named?

Yes, if the petitioner or primary sponsor dies before all qualified family members have immigrated, a new sponsor may submit a Form I-864 to become the primary sponsor regardless of the status of the deceased petitioner's estate
