Just wanted to say HI to every one that is sharing the same journey as us, and maybe a place to sound off.......this has been a long and difficult road for us....

*the strain of being separated, our lives are on hold

*i just dont understand WHY Vermont is sooooo slow to process petitions, while Cali SC is zipping thru em

*every one asking on my side and hers " when is she coming or when are you going to USA" ....I do know most are asking out of concern, but it it makes us miss each other all the more,

I could go on and on,

Anyways, feel free to say "hi" if you are in this together with us or maybe just share info or concerns.

I sincerely wish a accelerated processing of each and every ones petition and a very blessed and life long Matrimonial Bond for us all.

Many many of us feel your pain and anxiety. It gets worse with each passing day and week and month. Ours is about a month earlier than yours and we are still waiting as well. I called USCIS when it passed the 5 month mark which was supposedly past the normal proccessing time when I called. Only to be told it was still within normal times.........whatever.....Now the time has officially been changed on USCIS to 6 months proccessing, so when I hit 6 months and call, likely I'll get the same response "normal proccessing times" etc. Extremely frustrating proccess and unfortunately all we can do is wait. I really don't think any amount of calling, crying, begging, whining or congressmen is going to change anything. We are at big brother's mercy and all we can do is ponder why we were subjected to VSC instead of CSC in which case our significant other would have already been in the states. Best of luck to you, keep the faith, I guess after it's finally over it won't seem so bad. Take care.

Good luck and hang in there a little while longer! Don't underestimate a congressman's help when you are outside the processing times. They do represent us, and some are very good at what they do. Reluctance to ask won't do anything though. Also Mick_n_Leila, your timeline states "Texas Service Center". You can change this to Vermont by editing your timeline and get/contribute a more relevant estimate in waiting. :)

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process to K-1 Progress. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You may be right about the congressman and thanks for the advice. Are you familiar with how a person goes about contacting their congressman? Just never have had any reason to even consider it LOL so if you have any info / tips it would be appreciated.

Sure.

House by zip code: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

Senate list: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

If nothing else, it can help to voice concerns over matters. GOD knows we sure do have a lot of that here. Congressional offices can be contacted by phone, email, and letters. Representatives make up small districts and have offices within those districts. Mine is less than 5 miles from home.

Thanks for your words of advise and your experiences with USCIS........we are always hopeful, and positive.......I know there are many out there feeling the pain....sad thing is, this is our tax $$$ at work for us....just like everything else our GOV'T does................slooooooooooooooow, lazy and costly and most times rude to the tax paying public.........nevertheless, we will sit and wait, and encourage each other........Truly, Thank God for Skype....if it wasn't for Skype, I could'nt see my baby's smile

Slow, yes for a reason. Lazy, not any more than corporate offices and even so I bet they are more productive. Costly and rude? Those are the private contractors. The USA does a great job on lots of things but I would say Vermont's administrators could learn from California.
