How do you stay close in a LDR?

You gotta love these Long Distance Relationships! It takes a lot to keep them alive and get through the long, long wait between visits and before that Visa is finally in our hands.

One thing I've been doing for my Mari, aside from coming to the Philippines as often as I can and our nightly webcam chats, is recording homemade songs to MP3 for her to load to an ipod so I'm always near. I bought my first guitar in an online music store last year and a ukulele a couple of months ago. It's been fun learning something new and helps keep us close too.

Mari's been keeping a weblog for us so we can look back on our long (2 years now!) LDR. She's been wanting to post a few of my songs on the blog but I didn't know how how until very recently. VJ has been such a great and helpful place for us sharing info and meeting other couples going through the same hard process. So we're feeling better to open up a little and share our blog.

So if you wanna see some cute pics and have a nice laugh hearing some special LDR songs, take a look...

Hope you like it and please feel free to share anything else homemade (audio, video, whatever) that keeps your LDR alive.

Very sweet blog !

Nice music, wishing you 2 love birds all the best !

I cope with the LDR as best I can and it hurts.

I remind myself every day is one day closer to be in each other's arms forever........

and a committment to each other that is rock solid no matter what.

Thanks for the comments. :D

Mari's smile is something special but it's just a hint to her inner beauty. She is just as sweet natured and fun as her smile looks. She has a great ability to be upbeat and always make the best of things. I've learned how to value the relationship more than anything else and it's made every day with her amazing.

And thanks also for the charitable comment about the music. It is fun to create something that is appreciated by your loved one. A little scary to let others hear it.

Well D and I are reminiscing on all our songs that we've shared throughout the years...and we're making a cd for the wedding. (L) Today I put like 1/10th of them on a playlist for myspace....cos we're messin around with the tracklist order.

Anyways, it's a cute lil project for us...anyone who knows my id on myspace can go check it out....would love the fb....and you can make your own players too.
