1) YOu marry people you know personally, very personally which gives you much more to select that person from.

People often gravitate towards people they can relate to or are more similar than them. Thats why your friends are typically in the same intelligence range as you, most often the same race and just as often the same sex.

I don't think Blacks voted for Barack simply because he is black, or you would have to assume any conservative Black would have had the same record setting voting-block.

2) Black was a real motivator once the candidate was palatable.

I have no problem considering race in some aspects of life.... politics just is not one. I simply consider two things, the candidates character and what they will do in office.

1) Not according to the recent crop of posts from the Effects forum I daresay.

2) People have different reason for casting votes. McCain had my vote solid, not because I really believed in him but for his military service. Then he went and had a brain fart and selected an unPresidential Vice President. Then my vote went to Obama because he at least had Mrs. Clinton whom I had a crush on when they were still country folks back in Arkansas.

You can also add to that the fact that the choice of Palin as VP helped ensure a few more votes for the democrats. Palin was the nail in the coffin, for many.

That was what cost him my vote, and why I won't vote for Romney too. We need a real Leader now, I want someone to come in there and rattle the cages of evil doers around the world. Ryan looks like he still sucks his thumb and sleeps with a blanket.

It's also not my job to educate you on critical thought process but I'll try and I'll type slowly so you can follow along. Palin is not Presidential material so I didn't vote for McCain. Clinton was Presidential material so I voted for Obama. It' really easy to understand when you're not in a rage, so try to settle down Adolf.

What worries me about the GOP ticket is the lack of any details or any solid data, in addition to the incessant flip-flopping in positions and evasive explanations. The Dem ticket is not a shinning example of the opposite either, but they are not anywhere near the theatrics and smoke and mirrors presented by Mitt & Ryan.

So my vote was decided by VIce Presidents not the actual Presidents themselves. My mind was made up while their was wtill rumors of CLinton being VP or State but in either case her leadership on the Obama team sealed it for me.

Regarding McCain going strong, you're really a piece of work. I never hinted that McCain was going to off himself and VP then becomes President. What I said was acting Presidential. VPs don't just sit in a corner in the whitehouse until the President croaks. They have jobs that they do that shows them in a Presiedntial light.
