2 Basic questions about I-129F that I didn't find answers for

- Will they accept a copy of the G-325A? What I mean is, she can't do it in Japan, and then scan and email it to me, right? Even if she typed all the info. on the computer, she would still have to sign her signature at the bottom in pen, right? And then she would have to send me a hard copy of that in the mail, right? They don't want copies, or is that acceptable? I ask because, per my understanding, I am the one that's supposed to mail an envelope with my I-129F, my G-325A, her G-325A, etc. So, all the forms for this first part need to be with me here in New York for the first step, right?

-Should all of these documents for the I-129F be sent in one big manilla folder or how do you guys send off your preliminary packet?

Your right she needs to mail you a hard copy, as well as a letter of intent, and a passport photo. I put all my things in a thin plastic binder, but a big manilla folder will work probably

So she can type everything, except for when it says sign on the bottom, she needs to do that with a pen, right? Also, she is Japanese, but I've been told that on the G-325A she needs to sign in English. I'm not sure if she's ever signed her name in English.Would she just right in script/cursive?

Signature is a signature. It doesn't necessarily have to be perfect penmanship.

Original signatures are the safest. There have been members who have received RFE's for scanned docs or copies. Others have not had problems.

Normally USCIS requires original signatures (not e-mailed nor scanned) under the G-325A and the letter of intent. This might become a problem for you, depending on how strict the adjudicator is. All you can do is wait and see.

I don't think having a copy of the entire petition is necessary, but it is definitely better. We had problems with NVC messing my fiancés's birth date up, and we were happy to have copies of our petition, so we could prove that the wrong birthdate was not our fault, but theirs.

Thank you for you'r answer, you are right all we can do is to wait and will see if its ok or not :) ,anyways we have 6 months and 1 week already without any answer from them

If we call them and ask for service request will help or only give them a reason to ask for RFE? :help:

It could be a problem, yes. The signatures are required to be original on all forms. You'll just have to wait and see if it slips by. It very well could. Otherwise, they would more than likely send an RFE specifically asking for this.

Having a copy of the entire petition is for the benefit and reference of the petitioner and the beneficiary. There are several reasons for this, but I think there are two that stick out. The first being that it's good to have a reference to keep your mind sharp of what you sent in case anything happens to it. The second reason being the beneficiary needs to be prepared and know the contents of what he/she is going to be interviewed over.
