interview family and neighbors - Egypt

How often does the Cairo embassy actually interview family and neighbors? Also, what types of questions do they ask?

There have been other members here who have experienced this. Mohammed too mentioned to me shortly after his interview that "someone" was asking questions of the people on his street about me and about him. They basically wanted to know if I was really there with him, how long, what kind of activities were witnessed, but they never spoke to family.

Yep, exactly what Jean said. Khallid said people would tell him that there was someone asking about him in her neighborhood. Asked questions like "is he married, does he have kids, what work does he do?" That's the only think we could think of when we heard this. People at the embassy were actually working.

They do this?

The only time I heard of something like this is when ppl did a DCF. I heard of two occasions when they came to the home and looked around to see if they really lived together.

Asked my husband if this happened in our case and he was like No one talked to any of his friends, family or neighbors.
