NOA2 Hard Copy Notice

Hey VisaJourney,

I found out via the USCIS website that my petition had been approved and that my NOA2 had been sent last Friday October 5. It's now been a week and I have still yet to receive a hard copy of the notice. I also am utilizing the services of an attorney and he has not (as of yet) received the notice either. I know the US Postal Service is having its issues, but last I checked it doesn't take a week to send a notice via snail mail within the continental US. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Also, I'm a bit confused about the next couple of steps. I know that after this, the NVC is to receive the notice and next Friday I should be able to contact them about the case number. I also know that from there, they will DHL what's needed to the embassy in Johannesburg who will then contact my fiance and ship the forms and checklist to her. Is there anything I, as the petitioner, need to be aware of and need to keep my eyes open for or is it now pretty much out of my hands?

Thanks for the help.

Congratulations!

It can take up to 30 days to receive NOA2, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Basically what happens:

1. I-129F approved, case sent to NVC.

2. NVC prepare the packet to be sent to the beneficiaries country.

3. The consulate at the beneficiaries country will process the package and send the beneficiary their Packet 3 checklist.

For me (Australia), from NOA2 notification to me receiving my Packet 3 information was about 3 weeks, so it's a pretty quick process in my experience.

If you don't get your NOA2 hard copy in 30 days, call the USCIS helpline as they are responsible for that.

You shouldn't NEED to obtain a case number in case something is going wrong (I don't think so anyway :bonk: ) I believe it's online in case something goes wrong. The case number will be automatically sent to the beneficiary from their country's consulate.

Yes basically what I'm saying it's out of your hands!

Good Luck

I received my noa2 hardcopy within 6 days, wait 30 days and if it hasnt still arrive yet call them and explain, i heard that it will cost 400 ( i think ) to request a new one , but in this case its not ur fault so explain everything to them.
