Hi guys!

I just need help with removing of the condition of my green card. I've been married to my USC husband for about 2 yrs and 3 months. My conditional green card expires on Dec 2012. I just submitted the Form I-751 with the cashier's check yesterday. My question is do I have to send any paper work like to prove my marriage is bonafide with the form I-751. I only sent the complete form and the cashier's check yesterday. Pls do respond, i will really appreciate it. Thanks a lot! Have a good one guys! :)

RFE request of more evidence, did you read the instructions on the form. you need to send evidence of a bonafide marriage, fileing your taxes jointly, doing every thing togather banking, utility bills things showing the same address, both of you.

Topic has been moved from the K-1 visa forum to the Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion forum as the OP is at the Removal of Conditions stage and not applying for a K-1 visa

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

The most important evidence is co-mingling of finances and co-habitation. You need to show bank statements, health statements, insurance statements and similar items with both of your names on them and you need to show that you live at the same address together with ID cards or utility bills. All of these items need to span across the last two years, from the month immigration occured until the month you submit your paperwork. This is serious stuff - you are PROVING your relationship. Read the guidelines, follow them as closely as you can and you should be fine. But you WILL receive an Request For Evidence (RFE) and I'm pretty certain that the tax returns and previous lease contract will NOT be enough.

You should be able to provide other documentation to support your application if you've been married over 2 years already. You probably just don't realize it.

What about medical insurance coverage documents or dental documents? Credit cards where one of you is an authorized user or shared credit cards? Life insurance either through work or additional coverage? Next of kin information etc? What about utility bills where only one of you is listed but you both live there (ie you pay cable, but he pays electric etc... both show you live at the same address.)

Christmas cards, letters, utility bills? Car insurance documentation, drivers licenses, car lease etc? (my husband has the car in his name and I cover the EZ pass and we are both insured to drive it, so I threw all that in). What about cell phone plan if your numbers are on the same bill/family plan?

Have you had any children yet? Provide birth certificates.

I would recommend opening a joint account though. It is really useful for us to pay utility bills out of a pooled pot of money etc. Especially if you are both responsible for them. If you send money back and forth to each other electronically, maybe take copies of statements and highlight where you are giving money to each other? You might want to write a note to explain why you don't have a joint account. I think that is a normal thing for most couples, but don't quote me!

Dont just include the most recent tax return, include them from since you got married.

Did you at least include a copy of your green card front and back? I think that is also required when you send stuff back. I'd have to check again to be sure though.

Good luck and be prepared for a long wait as processing times are long, but it gives you time to prep more stuff. Read the guides!

They might return it to you or you will receive a REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE.

You have to send them :

Cover letter, check, copies of taxes, bank account ( joint account) medical , car and Heath insurance, pictures , mortgage and copy of ur GC.

When did you mail you package? After you mail it, they will either send it back since you didn't send a copy of your green card or hold it and send you an extension letter for one year. As soon as you get that letter, make a copy of it and gather all your documents that shows co mingling with your husband.

- joint tax returns

- credit cards (both your names)

- leases

- bank accounts

-vacations photos,

- affidavits from friends.

Put this letter on top of the documents and mail it immediately. If you wait until you get RFE ( could be 6-9 months) they will doubt that your marriage was bona fide or in good faith. And even if you send things after your Request for more evidence they could deny you and start deportation process.

So do this or I would seek a lawyers help right away.

You need to send as much information from the time your last interview was until now.

Hope this helps and good luck

Read the I -751 instructions again :)
